SJC to Host Public Meeting for Fire Station 22 and Sheriff’s Operation Center Project

St. Johns County will host an open-house public meeting on Thursday, April 10, from 5 to 6 p.m. to provide information and gather community feedback on the upcoming Fire Station 22 and Sheriff’s Operation Center project. The meeting is part of the County’s commitment to transparency and community trust, as outlined in the Strategic Plan approved by the Board of County Commissioners in February.

The meeting will take place at the Silverleaf Amenities Center, located at 218 Silver Forest Drive, St. Augustine. This informal, open-house format allows residents and neighborhood association members to ask questions, voice concerns, and offer suggestions about the project.

The new facility will be located at 7885 Saint Johns Parkway, St. Augustine. The 20,000-square-foot building will include a 3.5-bay Fire Station 22 and offices for a regional Sheriff’s Operation Center. The project is scheduled to begin with early clearing in Spring 2025, with construction set to commence in Fall 2025. Completion is expected by the end of 2026.

St. Johns County Public Works and Fire Rescue staff will be available to answer questions and provide details about the project’s timeline, impacts, and future developments.

The County encourages all residents and members of registered neighborhood associations to attend the meeting to stay informed and provide input as the County moves forward with this important community project.
