SJC to Host Additional Comprehensive Plan Update Open House Sessions on Sept. 30

St. Johns County invites the public to participate in the second open house for the County’s Comprehensive Plan Update as it crafts strategies to implement the community’s vision. On Sept. 30, two sessions will be held (10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.) at the County Auditorium, 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine.

The Comprehensive Plan is a state-required document that must be evaluated for updates at least once every seven years and is designed to guide a jurisdiction’s future actions. For St. Johns County, it will present a long-range vision for a community’s future with long-range goals, objectives, and policies. Building upon the strategies crafted by the community in the initial Comprehensive Plan Update Open House sessions, County staff and consultants from Inspire Placemaking Collective will guide participants through the process of selecting the strategies they believe the County should utilize and prioritize to implement the community vision through the year 2050. To enhance ADA transparency and consistency, St. Johns County established a dedicated email address for all ADA accommodation requests – ADA@sjcfl.us.

The County also encourages the public to visit the Comprehensive Plan Update website at www.SJCPlanUpdate.com to participate in the Visioning Activity and Idea Wall. The community’s engagement throughout this process is vital to producing a Comprehensive Plan Update that best addresses critical issues in St. Johns County.
