St. Johns County Recognized May 2024 as Drug Court Month

At the May 7, 2024, St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting, Commissioner Roy Alaimo, District 3 issued a proclamation recognizing May 2024 as Drug Court Month. Representatives from the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court attended the meeting to receive the proclamation.

2024 marks the 35th anniversary of treatment courts in the nation, with over 4,000 nationwide. Treatment courts have proven to be the most successful intervention for guiding individuals with substance use and mental health disorders towards recovery, stability, and health.

These courts improve various aspects of individuals’ lives including education, employment, housing, and family reunification while significantly reducing substance abuse and crime at a lower expense than other justice strategies.

St. Johns County Drug Court has served its community for 21 years, embodying the belief that when one person rises out of drugs and crime, we ALL rise.
