Celebrating Music and Legacy

Since its launch in 2022, the Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series has raised over $129,000, supporting the Fort Mose Historical Society’s efforts to preserve and reconstruct the 1738 Fort Mose site. Groundbreaking on this long-awaited project began in 2024 and is set to conclude in 2025.

Fort Mose was established in 1738 as a sanctuary for Africans seeking liberation from English enslavement. In 1994, it was designated a National Historic Landmark, and today, the site is celebrated as a symbol of resilience and cultural fusion.
