Fire Station 11 and Sheriff’s Office Operations Center Grand Opening

On Saturday, Sept. 7, St. Johns County welcomed the public to a grand opening ceremony and open house to celebrate the opening of the $10.5 million Fire Station 11 and Sheriff’s Office Operations Center, located at 4435 Cypress Links Boulevard, Elkton. The event included station tours, a firetruck push-in ceremony, and a flag dedication. The County’s Office of Public Affairs produced a video to recap the momentous occasion.

“Let us remember that this building is about more than just bricks, more than just beams – it’s about family,” Commissioner Sarah Arnold said. “It’s about the family of firefighters and first responders who will call this home during their shifts. It’s also about the families of those public safety professionals who know that their loved ones have a safe place to return to after responding to an incident. It’s about the people who will live here, who will work here, and who will rest here.”

Speakers included Sarah Arnold, Chair of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, St. Johns County Sheriff Robert Hardwick, St. Johns County Fire Chief Sean McGee, and Jeremy Robshaw, Chief of Administrative Services for Fire Rescue.

Architects Design Group (ADG) was the lead consultant/architectural team on the project, with DiMare Construction leading construction. Matthews DCCM (formally Matthews Design Group), IMEG (formally McVeigh & Mangum), TLC Engineering Solutions, and Castle Bay Studios also worked as subcontractors on the project.
