March 13, 2025 – SJC Parks and Recreation Celebrates Becoming a Certified Autism Center with Kite Day

St. Johns County officials, staff, and community members gathered to celebrate the Parks and Recreation Department’s designation as a Certified Autism Center with a press conference and Kite Day at Treaty Park.

March 6, 2025 – SJC Kicks Off Football Field Renovation at Solomon Calhoun Center with Groundbreaking

St. Johns County officials, staff, and community members gathered at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center football field for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of work to replace the field’s grass with artificial turf.

March 5, 2025 – SJC Celebrates Grand Opening of Mill Creek Park with Ribbon Cutting and Ceremonial First Pitches

St. Johns County joined the Villages Baseball Association and a huge crowd to celebrate the grand opening of Mill Creek Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and first pitches from county commissioners.

Movie in the Park March 29 | 6:30–9 p.m.

Bring a blanket or camp chair to Veterans Park and enjoy Po’s fourth adventure through ancient China with the whole family!

Yard games and face painting start at 6:30 p.m. The movie will begin promptly at 7:30.

Kids Got Talent! March 30 | 3 p.m.

Does your child have a special talent? Let them show off their skills at our Kids Got Talent Show! Prizes will be awarded to the top three kids in each age group . Singing, dancing, magic, comedy, acting, or any other talent—bring them on!

History Harvest April 11 | 4–7 p.m.

Join us for the first-ever St. Johns County History Harvest, a community-driven event where we invite you to bring your treasured photos, documents, heirlooms, and even stories to help preserve and share the rich history of our county.

Kids’ Triathlon April 27 | 8 a.m.

Prepare to swim, bike, and run through this year’s exciting Kids’ Triathlon! Kids from 5 to 14 will compete in a real, timed triathlon at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center across three groups organized by age (5–8, 9–11, and 12–14). Participants will get a t-shirt, medal, and official photo.

Arrive between 7:15 and 7:40 a.m. The opening ceremony will be at 7:55, and the race will start at 8. Be sure to bring your own bicycle (with no training wheels) and helmet!

The sooner you register, the lower the racing fee.
