SJC Approves $1.9 Million DeLeon Shores Park Improvement Project

At its regular meeting on December 4, the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners approved a $1,976,559 construction contract for an improvement project at DeLeon Shores Park (9 Dolphin Blvd. E., Ponte Vedra).

St. Johns County Celebrates Renovation of North Beach Park with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

On Jan. 9, 2026, St. Johns County celebrated the total overhaul of North Beach Park (3721 Coastal Highway, St. Augustine) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to commemorate the event.

Adam Vermut Wins 20th Annual St. Augustine Amateur Golf Tournament

On Dec. 7, 2025, University of North Florida senior Adam Vermut won the 20th Annual St. Augustine Amateur Golf Tournament with a birdie on the 18th hole of St. Johns Golf Club.

Matanzas Superhero Dash! Jan. 24 | 8 a.m.

Join us (and Ancient City Road Runners) on Saturday, Jan. 24, for the Matanzas Fun Run: 2026 Superhero Dash! Kids 13 and under can come to this fun run dressed as their favorite superheroes and show off their super speed.
Check-in starts at 8 a.m., and the race itself starts at 9. Registration is free, and the first 50 participants will receive a T-shirt and a medal upon crossing the finish line. It’s time to save the day and have fun along the way!

SJC Parks & Recreation Recognized as a Certified Autism Center

In April 2024, St. Johns County Parks & Recreation achieved the designation of Certified Autism Center through the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).

This distinction comes after a comprehensive program of staff training, heightened awareness efforts, and an on-site review of county parks and facilities.
