Board of County Commissioners
Overview
The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is a group of five elected officials collectively charged with administering county government. The commission acts as the executive of the local government, levying local taxes, managing county governmental institutions such as the Sheriff’s Office, Public Health oversight, building code enforcement, and Public Works. They serve 4-year terms.

County Commission Meetings
The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners meets the first and third Tuesday of each month beginning at 9:00 am in the County Auditorium, located at 500 San Sebastian View in St. Augustine.
The Board reserves the right to cancel and or change the meeting schedule as needed. Most Public Hearings for the County Commission will be advertised for 9:00 a.m. It will be left to the discretion of the BCC Chair as to the most appropriate time to break for recess. *Per Board Rule 4.102: The Board shall not hold a regular meeting on the first Tuesday of January or the first Tuesday of July. Public Comment Period
Electronic materials intended for display during the public comment period at a St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners meeting must be submitted to the St. Johns County Office of Public Affairs two business days in advance in order to ensure no network security or file format issues exist. Materials submitted less than two business days in advance may not be approved for display through the county network. ADA Accommodation
To ensure public meetings are accessible to all, St. Johns County offers closed captioning and assistive listening devices. Additionally, meeting attendees can request American Sign Language (ASL), Lip Reading, or Tactile interpreters.
