Commissioner Whitehurst Visits with Creekside High School Future Business Leaders of America

On February 5, St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners District 1 Commissioner Christian Whitehurst spoke to Creekside High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students.
The goals of FBLA are to:
- Develop competent, aggressive business leadership
- Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work
- Create more interest in and understanding of American business enterprise
- Encourage members in the development of individual projects which contribute to the improvement of home, business, and community
- Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism
- Encourage and practice efficient money management
- Encourage scholarship and promote school loyalty
- Assist students in the establishment of occupational goals
- Facilitate the transition from school to work
During his remarks, Commissioner Whitehurst presented a special Proclamation to the group.
WHEREAS, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) plays a vital role in shaping the future business leaders of our community, providing a platform for students to develop critical skills, foster an entrepreneurial spirit, and contribute meaningfully to the betterment of society; and
WHEREAS, FBLA, in recognition of its commitment to community, actively engages in impactful community service initiatives, demonstrating the organization’s dedication to making positive contributions that enhance the well-being of our local community; and
WHEREAS, FBLA is a catalyst for leadership development and business education, inspiring students to excel in their academic and professional pursuits; and
WHEREAS, FBLA week serves as a dedicated time to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of FBLA members, showcasing their commitment to excellence in academics, innovation, and leadership.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida, that the week of February 9-15th 2025, be known as
Future Business Leaders of America Week
