Commissioner Whitehurst Speaks at Rotary Club of Bartram Trail – Julington Creek

On January 23, 2025, Christian Whitehurst, District 1, spoke to the Rotary Club of Bartram Trail – Julington Creek upon their invitation. Commissioner Whitehurst spoke on a variety of topics.
These topics included:
- Economic Development: He shared the recent efforts of the Board of County Commissioners to adjust incentives to attract new companies to St. Johns County, and that has resulted in successful recruitments of the PGA Production Facility and Publix pharmaceutical fulfillment operations.
- Transportation Infrastructure: He shared updates on the $1B the Couty has dedicated to road projects, updates on the First Coast Expressway, and other projects like the 2209 connection to I-95 and the FDOT’s plans to 10-lane I-95.
- Community Services: He spoke about the County’s plans to build four regional parks with library hubs, pickleball courts, ballfields, and other amenities.
After his presentation, the Rotary Club presented Commissioner Whitehurst with a certificate to recognize their donation of funds to inoculate 10 children from the Polio disease as a thank you for his time to speak to the club.
