Commissioner Murphy Presents a Proclamation for National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

During the April 15, 2025, St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting, Commissioner Clay Murphy, District 3, presented a Proclamation to recognize National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. It was presented to St. Johns Sheriff Robert Hardwick and St. Johns County Fire Rescue Section Chief Dusty Wilson.
Here is the Proclamation:
WHEREAS, Public Safety Telecommunicators of the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) and St. Johns County Fire Rescue (SJCFR) play a vital role in the protection of human life and property in our community; and
WHEREAS, Public Safety Telecommunicators are the first critical contact our citizens have with emergency services. These dedicated men and women are First Responders serving our community; and
WHEREAS, Public Safety Telecommunicators are the single vital link for our police officers, deputy sheriffs, firefighters, and paramedics by monitoring their activities by radio, providing them information and ensuring their safety; and
WHEREAS, Public Safety Telecommunicators of the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and St. Johns County Fire Rescue have contributed substantially to the apprehension of criminals, suppression of fires, and treatment of patients; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida, that the week of April 13th through April 19th, 2025 be designated as
NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK
Recognizing the compassion, understanding, and professionalism St. Johns County Public Safety Telecommunicators exhibit during the performance of their jobs.
