Commissioner Joseph Welcomes Art in Public Spaces

The St. Johns Cultural Council invited St. Johns County Board of County Commissioner Krista Joseph, District 4, to speak at The Art in Public Spaces program opening reception, which was held on Feb. 12 at the St. Johns County Administration Building. St. Johns Cultural Council Executive Director Jeff Potts welcomed guests and introduced artist Gail Beveridge, who spoke about her work and answered questions from attendees.

The exhibition is called “People & Place,” which explores the human relationship with nature and our vital connection to these special places. In her oil paintings, Gail Beveridge captures the pristine beaches, salt marshes, pine forests, and cypress swamps of northeast Florida and the individuals interacting with the environment. “People & Place” inspires us to experience these natural wonders firsthand.

The exhibit is on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until April 3. This Art in Public Spaces exhibition is free, presented by the St. Johns Cultural Council, and made possible with support from the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council.
