Commissioner Arnold Presents Proclamation Recognizing A1A All-American Road Day

On Feb. 18, 2025, at the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting, Commissioner Sarah Arnold, District 2, presented a proclamation to Barbara Jenness, Robert Samuels, Sallie O’Hara, and Danielle Anderson for A1A All-American Road Day.
Here is the proclamation:
WHEREAS, St. Johns County is committed to the protection of scenic beauty, preservation of history and culture, enhancement of motor vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian safety, and the promotion of nature through outdoor recreation; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway, Inc., work tirelessly to support these efforts along the 72 miles of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway All-American Road; and
WHEREAS, the A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway was created by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration through the partnership of three established Florida Scenic Highways under the Florida Department of Transportation’s Florida Scenic Highway Program, linking A1A Ocean Shore in Flagler Beach, the A1A River-to-Sea Trail in the Hammock, and Scenic and Historic A1A in St. Johns County; and
WHEREAS, the All-American Road designation which was announced on February 16th, 2021, is one of two in the entire State of Florida to have earned this distinction, and one of 58 in the entire United States of America; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida that February 16th be recognized as
A1A ALL-AMERICAN ROAD DAY
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida, this 18th day of February 2025.
