The new store located at the World Commerce Center will add more than 150 jobs to the community
On April 16, 2025, St. Johns County Board of County Commissioner Sarah Arnold, District 2, was invited by The Home Depot to participate in the opening of its newest store in St. Augustine, Florida, at the World Commerce Center. The store, Home Depot’s 162nd location in Florida, expands the world’s largest home improvement retailer’s presence in the state and will create 150 new jobs. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to recap the special ceremonies.
“Self-reliance. Resilience. Tireless optimism. These are the traits of Home Depot customers,” said County Commissioner Sarah Arnold, District 2. “Our residents embody those traits, and I am beyond thrilled to welcome The Home Depot to our community. They provide products, services, and knowledge our residents need to create the homes of their dreams right here in this dream community of St. Johns County.”
The new Home Depot is located at 2905 International Golf Parkway, St. Augustine, Florida 32092. The store is 135,000 square feet and features an optimized, more flexible checkout and customer service area, specialty showrooms with new merchandising displays and layouts, a large garden center, a full tool rental center featuring large equipment rentals, and new storage areas for customers’ Buy Online Pickup in Store orders.
“This is more than just a store opening for Home Depot,” said Chadd Alger, the store manager of the new World Commerce Center Home Depot. “We’re committed to contributing to the states and communities where we operate and enabling associate growth at all levels.”
As part of its investments in the communities where it operates, The Home Depot contributes to job programs, veteran causes, and emergency response efforts to support employees and customers.
To commemorate the new store opening, The Home Depot contributed $5,000 to the 5 Star Veterans Center in Jacksonville, FL. The Home Depot’s commitment to the nation’s veterans is bigger than any one store opening, and since 2011, The Home Depot Foundation has invested more than $550 million in veterans’ causes and has pledged to contribute $750 million by 2030. In 2018, The Home Depot Foundation launched its Path to Pro program to train the next generation of skilled tradespeople. In partnership with Home Builders Institute (HBI), it hosts a program for transitioning service members at Jacksonville Naval Station to provide training in the skilled trades and industry-recognized pre-apprenticeship certification (PACT).
