2023 Standards

St. Johns County Utility Department (SJCUD) Development Group is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and construction of new water, sewer and reclaimed water systems within the SJCUD Service Area.  All utility work must be approved by SJCUD prior to starting construction.  Listed below are the manual, materials, details, and forms used by the Development group.

SJCUD has updated its Utility Standards effective February 1, 2023. View the 2023 Summary of the Changes. The proposed changes in procedures, design standards, construction specifications, approved materials, drawings and details, and forms used before, during, and after construction can be reviewed by clicking the links below. The proposed changes provide advances in materials, improvements in construction methods, and establish clarified processes and guidelines for utility installations.  Questions and comments may be submitted in writing to the Development Engineer. Future changes will be considered beginning in January of each year with evaluation, adoption, and implementation being completed by July 1.

Water conservation tip: Check your garden hose for leaks at the connection to the spigot. If it leaks, replace the hose washer and insure a tight connection using pipe tape and a wrench.
