St. Johns County is currently accepting applications for the following volunteer Board and Committee vacancies. Please call (904) 209-0300 for more information or to obtain an application.

Library Advisory Board – 2 Regular Members
Purpose of Committee: An advisory committee created to advise the County on the establishment, operation and maintenance of free public library services within St. Johns County.
Qualifications:

  • All members must be St. Johns County residents
  • Prefer a Representative from District 1 and 5

Term: Members serve a term of four (4) years.
Meeting Schedule: This Board meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 9:00 am with the meeting location rotating each month to a specific branch library.

Northwest Communication Tower Advisory Board – 2 Regular Members
Purpose of Committee: Review proposals for expenditure of income derived from the lease of Mills Field property.
Qualifications:

  • Seeking applicants who reside in the portion of St. Johns County bounded on the east by the westerly right-of-way of I-95; bounded on the south by the northerly right-of-way of CR 210 (from I-95 to Greenbrier Road); and by the northerly right-of-way of Greenbrier Road and its westerly extension (to the westerly boundary of St. Johns County); bounded on the west and north by the County line, who would also need to fill the below requirements.
  • (1 Regular) Applicant who has a passive recreation interest (i.e. garden club member, member of environmental group OR (1 Regular) Applicant who is a representative of the Civic Association.

Term: Regular members serve a term of four (4) years.
Meeting Schedule: This Board meets quarterly at the Hart House/Beluthahatchee Park, located at 1501 S. R. 13 North, Fruit Cove, FL 32259.

Mid-Anastasia Design Review Board – 6 Members: 4 Regular and 2 Alternate
Purpose of Committee: The purpose of the Mid-Anastasia Design Review Board is to protect natural resources, maintain and enhance the diverse and unique character of the Mid-Anastasia Overlay District and achieve specific goals and objective of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan. The Design Review Board’s (DRB) primary responsibility is to determine compliance with Part 3.08.00 Mid-Anastasia Overlay District of the St. Johns County Land Development Code, Ordinance 99-51, as amended.
Qualifications: Must be a St. Johns County resident demonstrating interest in the history and design of the Anastasia Community. Appointees to the Design Review Board shall be qualified through the demonstration of special interest, experience or education in design, architecture or history of the Mid- Anastasia community. 

  • Seeking applicants residing within the Overlay District, on Anastasia Island and north of Weff Road and Satsuma Avenue.
  • Members are required to file a financial disclosure with the Supervisor of Elections.

Meeting Schedule: This Board meets the second Thursday of every month at 3:00pm in the County Permit Center, 4040 Lewis Speedway.

South Anastasia Design Review Board – 2 Alternates
Purpose of Committee: The purpose of the South Anastasia Design Review Board is to protect and preserve the “Old Florida” style, rural beach community in the South Anastasia Overlay District and achieve specific goals and objective of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan. The Design Review Board’s (DRB) primary responsibility is to determine compliance with Part 3.07.00 South Anastasia Overlay of the St. Johns County Land Development Code, Ordinance 99-51, as amended.
Qualifications:

  • Must be a St. Johns County resident who has shown an interest in the history and design of the Anastasia Community.    
  • All members shall meet the Membership Area overlay residency requirements which are to reside on Anastasia Island south of Dondanville Road. 
  • Members are required to file a financial disclosure with the Supervisor of Elections.

Meeting Schedule: This Board meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 3:00 p.m. in the County Permits Center, 4040 Lewis Speedway.
