Nutrition and Health Coaching
Lindsey Lemaistre went to University of Florida for undergrad and received her health coach training through Duke Health & Well-Being. She integrates coaching practices with a focus on lifestyle changes as a powerful way to address chronic diseases and promote overall wellness. 

Can’t make it in person? No worries! Lindsey is now offering telephonic appointments.


FY 2025 Employee Golf Program
The St. Johns Golf Club once again offers BOCC and SOE employees an economical way to play golf and enjoy increased physical fitness. Full and part-time county employees, and their eligible dependents, qualify to participate in this discount program through September 30, 2025. To register employees must complete a Golf Program Form and either present when checking in at the Golf Course for the first time or email to wtucker@sjcfl.us.


2024 Healthy Living Reimbursement Program
Session 2 (July 1 – December 31) is open for benefits-eligible employees! This program provides reimbursement of up to $100.00, two times per year ($200 annually and subject to tax assessment) for approved activities to continue supporting our employees to lead healthy and happy lives at and outside of work. To receive reimbursement, the activity must be purchased and submitted using the Reimbursement Request Form during the program dates listed below. Reimbursements will be made via payroll within 1-2 pay periods following each session.

  • Session 1:  January 1 – June 30
  • Session 2:  July 1 – December 31

Activities purchased or submitted outside of these dates will be denied. Requests require proof of purchase, including vendor name, activity type or description, date of purchase, and total cost. This program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis as funding allows.

Covered Activities

  • Gardening Supplies including garden kits, plants, seeds, pots, gloves, planters, shears, fertilizers
  • Florida State Park Pass or National Park Pass
  • Fitness Equipment including shoes (for any sport), treadmill, snowboard, skis, bicycle, tennis racket, golf clubs, yoga mat, helmet, skates, hula hoop; equipment for swimming, football, soccer, baseball, surfing
  • Well-Being / Health / Fitness Magazine Subscription or Book
  • Running / Walking / Biking or Similar Race Event including registration or tournament fees
  • Gym Memberships
  • Exercise / Fitness Classes / Active Sport Lessons including yoga, aerobics, Zumba, pilates, spin, martial arts, meditation, kickboxing, dance, nutritional or dietitian classes from wellness experts, weight management with coaching, JumpstartMD, karate, tae kwon do, music, art, archery, boxing, cricket, CrossFit, horseback riding, mental wellness classes, kayaking
  • Exercise, Nutrition, Mental Wellness Mobile App Subscription
  • Fitness Trackers including Apple iWatch, Fitbit, or similar wearable
  • Personal Training Memberships
  • Sessions with a Registered Dietitian or Personal Health Coach including nutrition counseling, meal planning services (but not food purchases)

Excluded Activities/Items

  • Spa treatments
  • Vitamins and supplements
  • Medical appointments, services, supplies, tests, or equipment
  • Exercise attire or sports attire (except fitness shoes)
  • Sunglasses
  • Physiotherapy and chiropractors including massage
  • Headphones, AirPods, Bluetooth headsets
  • Computer equipment, desks, computer chairs, headsets, and ergonomic equipment

St. Johns County reserves the right to decline incomplete submissions, requests outside of the session dates, verifications without the required information, or submissions that have been falsified. This initiative may be discontinued at any time.

Next Steps Health Coaching Program
Florida Blue is launching individualized health coaching with a Registered Nurse Certified Health Coach for enrolled members who are 18 and older. Focus areas include:

  • Adopt healthy eating habits
  • Lose weight
  • Find ways to add more activity into your day
  • Learn ways to manage stress
  • Manage high cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar
  • Quit using nicotine

SJC Employee Fitness Centers
The BCC and Constitutional Offices provide two onsite fitness centers for St. Johns County employees to promote healthy living.  The fitness centers are located at the County Admin building and the Courthouse. How to Access Each Location. The County Admin location is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. The Courthouse location is open Monday through Friday from 4 AM to 8 PM. To obtain badge access to use either fitness center, BCC employees should first complete the Fitness Waiver located in NEOGOV and review the Gym Rules.
