The Family Integrity Program offers the services needed to adopt a special needs child who is in the State of Florida’s permanent custody. Not every child that comes into care is available for adoption, though those that are currently available can be found here: www.adoptflorida.org
How You Can Adopt
Successfully complete PRIDE training – We are the only agency in the county that may provide the PRIDE (Parent Resource Information Development Education) training required to be considered for a licensed or adoptive home. The training consists of nine, three hour classes preceded by a one-hour orientation. We offer the PRIDE training on a rotational basis and, prior to new sessions, offer an informational orientation for prospective parents.
Have an approved Adoptive Home Study – A Home Study is conducted by the Family Integrity Program for St. Johns County residence and will include background checks, financial statements, social, medical, and family histories.
