Tourism Development Programs

St. Johns County prioritizes leveraging partnerships and opportunities to develop and deliver high quality destination marketing materials intended to attract high-spend visitors.  

Each year, the Tourist Development Council reviews and approves an annual marketing plan to promote St. Johns County as a desirable visitor destination.

The County also partners with the Visitors and Convention Bureau to coordinate familiarization trips with travel writ­ers, tour operators, meeting planners and other travel industry professionals to raise awareness of the destination across the industry.

St. Johns County Tourist Development Arts/Culture/Heritage (ACH) Funding Program

The St. Johns Cultural Council administers the ACH Grant Program. Information about the grant program, including guidelines, deadlines, grant portal (online application), and workshop registration, is available on the Cultural Council’s website by clicking on the below button.

Questions regarding any portion of the application or application process must be submitted in writing via email to grants@historiccoastculture.com. TDC programs under Leisure and Recreation are managed by the County’s Parks and Recreation Department and have included capital projects such as fishing piers, boat ramps and beach renourishment/maintenance.

• Sporting events such as the Triple Crown Sports baseball tournament and the St. Augustine Amateur golf tournament also receive TDC Category 3 funding.
• A TDC-funded sports event grant program is administered by the County’s Parks and Recreation Department.

This funds tourism-related infrastructure improvements such as the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and the St. Johns County Convention Center. It provides financial support for certain significant special events like THE PLAYERS Championship and Nights of Lights. It also funds administrative and operational expenses.

This category provides funds for beach park facilities, beach or beach access, channel, estuary, or lagoon improvement, maintenance, renourishment, restoration, and erosion control.
