Reciprocity Information
Persons already licensed as a contractor in many other Florida jurisdictions may find simple reciprocity in St. Johns County.
Such applicants shall provide an original letter from the licensing official in the jurisdiction where their examination was administered. Details of the date of examination, type, grade and class of contracting shall be included in the letter. A completed Application is also required.
No reciprocity shall be accorded to licensees who have not passed an acceptable written exam.

All Active license applicants must provide proof of Liability and Workers Compensation certificates or Exemption. All insurance certificates must be made out to St. Johns County Licensing, 4040 Lewis Speedway, St. Augustine, FL 32084. They must reference as the insured both the individual who holds the license and the company the license holder qualifies
All State Registered Trades (Class I)
General, Building & Residential Contracts, Master Electrical, Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, Mechanical, Swimming Pool, Roofing, Utilities & Solar Contractors must provide State Registration, Liability and Workers Compensation or Exemption Certificate.
