I’m not in an Evacuation Zone – What Does That Mean for Me?

Often times evacuation orders will also call for individuals living in low-lying areas and mobile homes to evacuate. These structures are at risk from the high winds and heavy rains tropical systems often bring. For your safety, in the event of any evacuation, shelters will be made available for residents and visitors. If you are not in any of the zones or structures asked to evacuate, you may stay at home if you feel safe doing so. Be sure to have a fully stocked emergency kit, prepare your residence to weather the storm, ensure others (family or friends) know your plan and follow all preparedness messages from local officials.
