Coastal Highway Shared Use Path and Drainage Improvements Meetings

Shared Use Path and Drainage Improvements on Coastal Highway from the State Road A1A Intersection to 24th Street Public Meeting Vilano Beach, St. Johns County, Florida

FDOT proposes the following improvements:

  • An 8-foot-wide trail for pedestrians and cyclists
  • Two right-turn southbound lanes will be removed.
  • Drainage improvements in various locations to improve roadway flooding

4/9 Virtual and 4/10 In-Person Meetings

  • The virtual meeting will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025, online at nflroads.com/VPH. The meeting will consist of an informal open house from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a formal presentation and public comment period beginning at 6 p.m.
  • The in-person meeting will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the GTM Research Reserve, 505 Guana River Rd, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082. The meeting will consist of an informal open house from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a formal presentation and public comment period beginning at 6 p.m.

Both virtual and in-person participants will be given equal opportunities to ask questions and make oral statements that will become part of the public hearing record. Persons who wish to submit written statements or other exhibits may do so prior to or during the hearing in the comments section at nflroads.com/VPH. Citizens may also submit questions, statements and other exhibits by sending them to Tyler Klemm at (904) 360-5608, by email at Tyler.Klemm@dot.state.fl.us by traditional mail at 2198 Edison Avenue Jacksonville, FL 32204 or at nflroads.com/VPH. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before April 22, 2025, will become part of the public hearing record. 

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. The attached notification is being sent to all property owners within 300 feet of either side of the proposed modifications to solicit their input. Public hearings provide the public with an opportunity to express their views on the project, its potential for impact and other related matters.
