Commissioner Whitehurst Recognizes Venardos Circus

On December 17 prior to the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting, Commissioner Christian Whitehurst presented a special recognition to the Venardos Circus as a part of their pop-up performance in the rotunda. The circus has full performances at the St. Augustine Amphitheater from December 19 to January 5.
The Venardos Circus, a unique Broadway-Style Circus performance, has been touring the U.S. since its debut at the L.A. County Fair in 2014. It is reinventing the American Circus tradition for a new generation with Broadway-style flair, bringing joy to people across the U.S. Theatre lovers and nostalgic circus fans alike will appreciate the intimate experience and sentimental way the show pays homage to circus traditions through the lens of high-quality entertainment for a modern family audience.

Good morning, everyone!
It is truly an honor to stand before you today as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the extraordinary Venardos Circus.
For nearly a decade, this unique Broadway-style circus has dazzled audiences across the country, and we are thrilled to welcome them back to St. Augustine for their special anniversary tour.
St. Augustine holds a distinct place in the Venardos story.
The circus first performed here in 2017, and it was right here in our beautiful community that Venardos Circus began to thrive, blossoming into the beloved national act it is today.
Kevin Venardos, the visionary behind this incredible performance, has made St. Johns County his home, even purchasing land for a possible winter training location and residence for his talented performers.
But it’s not just about the spectacle.
Venardos Circus has been an incredible partner in our community, giving back to local causes and even supporting those affected by the devastating hurricane in Asheville, North Carolina, this past year.
Their commitment to St. Johns County goes far beyond the entertainment they provide; they’re truly invested in our community and in the people who call it home.
As we look forward to this holiday season and the “A Decade of Dreams” tour, I encourage everyone to experience this magical show at The Amp.
It’s a celebration of dreams realized and a testament to what can happen when passion and perseverance come together.
From their incredible performances to their community impact, Venardos Circus is a shining example of the talent, creativity, and spirit that make St. Johns County such a special place.
