County Addressing Solid Waste Collection Disruptions Aug. 4

St. Johns County is addressing solid waste collection service disruptions following the transition to its new provider, FCC Environmental Services Florida, LLC (FCC), which began servicing the County on Aug. 1, 2024.

To resolve these issues, all available County Road and Bridge crews will mobilize at 7 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 4, to complete all service routes missed on Thursday, Aug. 1, and Friday, Aug. 2.

Road and Bridge crews will use various County equipment to collect garbage, recycling, and yard waste, aiming to complete all missed service routes by the end of the day on Aug. 4.

St. Johns County is deploying all resources, including legal measures, to ensure the contractor fulfills its contractual obligations and is accountable for performance issues. The County is actively engaging with FCC leadership for a swift resolution.

For questions or concerns, residents can contact the St. Johns County Solid Waste Division at 904-827-6980 or SolidWaste@sjcfl.us.
