Public Invited to Tour World Golf Village Hall of Fame on May 29

St. Johns County is offering the public an opportunity to tour the World Golf Village (WGV) Hall of Fame, One World Golf Place, St. Augustine, on Wednesday, May 29, at 5:30 p.m. before the State of the County address presented by St. Johns County Administrator Joy Andrews at 6 p.m. at the IMAX Theatre located in WGV next to the Hall of Fame. Pre-registration for the tour is not required. Members of the public wishing to attend the tours are asked to park in the general parking east of the PGA Tour Entertainment building and enter the main ticket lobby of the Hall of Fame adjacent to the IMAX Theater.

The tour will allow the public to see various interior locations of the Hall of Fame. On May 21, the St. Johns Board of County Commissioners approved WGV strategic recommendations and directed County staff to present a Request for Qualifications to solicit proposals from developers to redevelop the WGV based on community input provided by the public through online surveys and public engagement meetings.

The State of the County address will feature updates on the County’s efforts to address traffic with the expansion of new and wider roads, the plan to build five new regional parks, a public safety program to add more fire stations, an update on the County’s 2050 Comprehensive Plan, details on how the County is creating new job opportunities, information about past and future County initiatives. Additionally, it will include ways citizens can become more engaged and informed on County activities and news through a new citizens academy, a new mobile app, and other open governance efforts by the County.
