Public Records Requests

Government records may be seen and copied from a records custodian at the County Administration building, via specific County Departments responsible for their own records, from records custodians at Elected Officials Offices and at other levels of government such as state agencies, local, county and state authorities.

Public records requests may be made by completing the Public Records Request Form or contacting us directly. For more information, please view the Public Records Request Brochure or contact Board of County Commissioners Records Management by emailing publicrecords@sjcfl.us or calling (904) 209-0805.

Your Right to Access Information

The State Constitution provides local citizens with a right of access to County meetings and records  (Online Agendas / Minutes ). Disclosure is the standard, unless the Legislature determines that a public necessity compels exemption from the State's strong open government laws.

St. Johns County is dedicated to maintaining and building public trust in government by keeping government open and accessible to the citizens it serves. This page serves as a resource to those seeking to become more familiar with the requirements of open government laws.
