Recreation Advisory Board
The Recreation Advisory Board meets on the first Thursday of each month at 3:00 pm in the conference room located in the wing housing the County Commissioners’ offices in the new administration building at 500 San Sebastian View. The board was established by the Board of County Commissioners on January 9, 1990, Section 7-2.0303 of the meeting minutes. It is comprised of seven members, each serving four-year terms, and seeks district representation.
The Recreation Advisory Board provides a sounding board for new ideas, assists in solving problems, acts as liaison when called upon by other governmental bodies, represents the Recreation and Parks Department’s posture on sensitive issues in the public arena, assists in the establishment and completion of goals, objectives, and budgets to provide leisure time programs and facilities for communities in St. Johns County.
