Fiscal Year 2017 Budget

St. Johns County Fiscal Year 2017 Administrator's Budget Hearings – In conjunction with the annual budget process, members of the public are invited to attend the St. Johns County Fiscal Year 2017 Administrator's Budget Hearings scheduled for 9 a.m. May 18 through 20 at the St. Johns County Health and Human Services Building, 200 San Sebastian View. Hosted by St. Johns County Administration and the Office of Management and Budget, the hearings will provide a departmental line item review of the proposed Fiscal Year 2017 St. Johns County budget in its formative stage prior to its presentation to the Board of County Commissioners. If the hearings proceed faster than anticipated, the scheduled times may be adjusted accordingly. It is anticipated that one or more St. Johns County Commissioners may attend and participate in the budget hearings. St. Johns County Turtle Town Beach Clean-Up – 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 30. Sea turtle nesting season is quickly approaching and turtles need clean, clear beaches to safely lay eggs. Registration and supplies will be available on the day of the clean up at the Crescent Beach parking lot, the St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier, the Vilano Road beach access, and Mickler's Landing. Sea Turtle Nesting Season Begins May 1 – County officials are asking everyone to help protect natural habitat by observing all nesting season laws and regulations. Between May 1 and October 31, vehicular traffic on the beach is allowed from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., all beachfront properties are required to eliminate interior and exterior lights which may disrupt nesting sea turtles, and volleyball court lights at SJC Pier Park will turn on from sunset to 9 p.m. Sea Turtle Season

Orientation and Pre-service Training for Prospective Foster Parents – Residents who would like to help local children and families by becoming a foster parent, adopting a special needs youth or teen, or helping in other ways are encouraged to attend the Family Integrity Program orientation session, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on May 2 in the Health and Human Services building. Nease House Environmental Educational Days – Parks and Recreation and the Environmental Division will host workshops from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Nease Beachfront Park, 3171 Coastal Hwy, on May 7, June 15, and July 13. Potential Land Development Code Amendments The Growth Management Department will discuss potential amendments to the Land Development Code with the Board of County Commissioners on May 3 at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Johns County Auditorium. Staff will seek direction from the Board on these topics: Fence Height, Mini-Warehouse Facilities, Upland Buffers, Open Space, and Electronic Billboards. More Details

Dobbs Road Cutoff Closure will be closed for utility installation from Movie Street to Dobbs Road from April 28 through approximately May 14. Detour routes will be posted. Motorists are asked to plan accordingly and drive safely. For more information, please call 904.669.2150.
